Time for humanitarian intervention, Burma Cyclone Crisis
Within last two hours, wire news were sending mixed messages from Burma. Initial report was UN halted aids, then resumed, probably with Junta’s conditions. The message was very clear to all out there to help Burmese people; that is, Military Junta does not care for the Million of lives.
Their priority is to stay in power forever. All Burmese who’s mouth are able to open and speak because there are lucky enough to be away from Burma, agree that this is the high time for UN to lead the humanitarian intervention.
This is the time that thousands of people ( out of 15 million in 3000 sq km affected area, only God knows how many) were desperately hang on for their dear lives, without proper Disaster Management.
There is no politics, no national boundary, and no international law applied to illegitimate Government of Burma, as they have never respected the International Rule of Law.Moreover, the regime is not elected by people, and Burmese people have voted overwhelmingly to NLD several years ago and last year, Saferon Revolution reflected the genuine wishes of Burmese people, who should be legitimate Government of Burma.
A survivor from Lubutta told exile media that ( She is only 12 years old) she had to walk 4 days to reach the town, surviving only on coconut water, only to be told by the gun touting soldiers to go to another town.
All survivors from remote villages said, there were no visible rescue missions, no supply of basic food and water, nothing from Junta. But they are telling the world that they can take care of the this Catastrophe, by themselves.
If UN and International Community is continue treating the Junta as a legitimate Government and also as Civilized people, the price is going to be thousands of lives.
